Day 112 – June 30
(Alaska Day 21) – Shipping Fish
It rained off and on
all day. Rick and I talked to Chuck
(campground owner) about shipping our fish home. He directed us to a local place named
Tanner’s. He said to get two 30-pound
boxes and pack-up the fish for two-day shipment. We went to Tanner’s and asked about the
boxes. We were told they only did
overnight and they would box it up for us free if we took the fish down to
them.
We returned to the campground and got the fish out of
Chuck’s home freezer. We went back to
Tanner’s and dropped off the fish. They
said they would let us know about the cost later and get our credit card
information.
When we got back Dorrie was doing a load of wash so I helped
her.
Later in the day Rick said a moose walked through the
campground. We didn’t see it, but it
walked by the camper next to Rick’s, walked straight through and crossed the
road.
At one point Chuck stopped by the camper to say he was going
to have a pot -luck dinner on the 4th, he would provide the pulled
pork and he was asking everyone else to bring a side dish or dessert.
And that my friends is the sum of
the day.
